About Our Location

Our Practice

Ivy Grove Surgery is one of the main GP surgeries in the market town of Ripley, Derbyshire, located close to the Peak District.

The practice was established in 1927 and has grown substantially in size over the years, and in June 2005 we moved from our town centre location to a more spacious purpose built building on a much larger site on the Church Farm estate just on the outskirts of Ripley.

The surgery is a modern, comfortable and accessible environment, with many consultation rooms and individual treatment rooms. We have both staff and patient car parks. Our building houses the surgery team, including receptionists, admin staff and managers.

Our Patients

The age distribution of our patients is somewhat similar to that of the general population. The practice covers Ripley town and a radius of about 3 miles covering several outlying villages (see our practice area).

There is a mixture of the previous mining community and incoming population, who generally work either in local light industry or in neighbouring towns. There is continuing expansion of housing in the town, though the pace has slowed in recent years due to the current economic climate.
